Captain :
Danny Wilson
Proud to represent P.A.M bats ltd, without them would never have compiled the 698 runs accrued in 2006. Had a fantastic season with the bat in 2007, despite the rain. First team skipper and qualified coach who likes cooking, especially up mountains.
Now no more than an occasional bowler, as am becoming cynical about the amount of effort involved for limited reward! Still swing it around corners though...
Vice Captain :
Michael Burrell
Legendary Sawbo allrounder who scores runs quickly and bowls medium/fast. He has a great sense of humour and always has a joke or two! One for the ladies due to his length, we must say that Buzza is the local celeb!
Players
Steve Ashman
Talented opening batsman who cemented his place in the 1st team as opening batsman last seaon. Should be looking to improve his league average of 17 this season if he applies himself. A true teenager who rarely emits more than the odd grunt, Steve likes a drink.
Matt Birch
A true clubman who was Club Captain for five years and always gives 100% to the cause. Has been a key batsman in the 1st team for the past twelve years, scoring over 10,000 runs in that time. Also holds the club record for highest score - 223 against Hutton in 1997. Had a variety of random injuries last year, Matt is 2nd XI captain in 2007.
Also shows prowess on the dart board, Matt is known as "The Judge" - and is one of few players to beat Paul "Two Darts" James.
Leslie Gaylard
Middle order batsman who can also bowl a few overs if needed. Only played sporadically last season due to work commitments but took a 7-for for the 2s in the rain, and is playing regularly in 2008, but is classed as an overseas player in the Home Counties League so will have to play most of his cricket in the 2s this season. Looks a bit like Frodo Baggins.
Simon Greenall
Simon is still at uni. and consequently he looks like a tramp. Wicket keeper extraordinaire, has suicidal tendancies by keeping in the nets to fast bowlers. Almost broke Bredey's dismissal record in 2005, Simon's abilities grow each year, and he is keen to bat as high as possible. Can be below the belt when playing drinking games.
Paul Reed
Young medium/fast bowler and middle order batsman who really came on in 2007 and has the ability to bowl 'jaffas' in any situation. Could bowl a lot of overs this season, if he manages to get out of bed on time. Word on the street is that he actually has A JOB.
