Clayton Floyd - 2017 Overseas Player / Coach

We are pleased to announce the signing of Clayton Floyd as our overseas player/coach for the 2017 season.

Clayton is a fantastic all-round prospect from South Africa’s highest ranked club side Assupol TUKS in Pretoria.
He is a left-arm spin bowling all-rounder who moved back to South Africa from New Zealand early in 2015 after securing his place at the prestigious TUKS Academy.

Prior to his move back to his place of birth, Clayton represented New Zealand in their successful Under-17 World Cup campaign in 2012. In 2014, he starred for New Zealand at the Under-19 Indoor World Cup, and was named Player of the Tournament.

Clayton has also played for the Auckland Under-19 outdoor team and finished second on the wicket charts, despite an injury curtailed campaign. His success resulted in New Zealand Under-19 outdoor selection, which he had to decline due to his relocation back to South Africa.

This will be Clayton's second season playing in the UK, having played last year in the Derbyshire League for Elvaston - topping the bowling charts with with 35 wickets at 17.06 and contributing 268 runs at 16.75.  He brings with him genuine all-round skills alongside plenty of coaching experience and level three equivalent coaching qualifications

We look forward very much to Clayton's arrival in April, and his success at the club this year.

Mint Cafe Sponsorship

We are pleased to announce that Mint Café have kindly agreed to be our main Colts sponsor for the next three seasons (2015-7), this brings a much welcome injection of funds to our Junior cricket set-up, and will help us greatly in some of the plans we have to continue to move this part of the club forwards over the next few years.

Finding sponsorship is always a difficult task, and allowing us to put a three year agreement in place is a fantastic commitment from Rob and Michele, as a club we can’t thank them enough! The Mint Cafe can be found in Bakers Walk, Sawbridgeworth, and their website can be found at
www.mintcafe.org, we'd encourage all our members and friends to pay them a visit!

Hertfordshire T20 Champions 2015

On Sunday 19th July we were 'crowned' T20 Champions of Hertfordshire at Bishops Stortford CC, beating Letchworth in the final by 5 wickets, having won a close semi-final against the hosts. Thanks to all those who came along and showed their support, we now look forward to the Area Finals at Ealing CC on Sunday 2nd August!

Before then, we are also hosting the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust XI in two back to back games on Wednesday 29th July, further details of this to follow, but would be great if anyone interested in playing could contact either Andy McGarry or Will Jones, so we can start building a squad of players..... players of all abilities are welcome, from 1st team to 4th team, so if you're interested don't be shy!
