Taken on Monday 10th September, 2007, the square is being Koro'd, a process which skims up to 6 cm of the top to be replaced by fresh Ongar loam.  The square was levelled at the same time.  The job was in the hands of Steven Pask Ltd, one of the most respected ground specialists in the country.  It took a week to complete at a cost of £16,000 and was paid for by 50% grants from each of the ECB and East Herts Council.
